CW network to replace WB, UPN

Since I actually have a UPN affiliate, I'm cautiously optimistic that this news means I'll be able to get Gilmore Girls in real time. That is if Richmond does the smart thing and carries this new CW network on the current UPN affiliate. I don't have much hope that the smart thing will be done.

All indications are that the people who only have a UPN affiliate will get the CW on where their UPN affiliate used to be.

Haha, and it's the opposite way around for me. Now I have a WB affiliate on my DirectTV, and I'm hoping that the new CW network will be on that channel so I can get my Veronica Mars.

Yeah so this is interesting news to receive on maternity leave, especially when one works for a WB affiliate that was just bought out locally by the CBS affiliate. :) The new network has been cleared in 48% of the country. It is up to local affiliates especially in markets where both UPN and WB exist to work things out. Our market will have the CW network but we do not know who will have it us, the UPN (which is owned locally by Clear Channel) or if it will start a local affiliation shuffle. Ughh this is making my head hurt. It would seem that in Richmond the UPN would become the new CW. It makes sense as long as all the affiliation agreements can work out. The only other alternative would for your UPN to become an independent station which doesn't seem likely or go dark which wouldn't make sense. I hope it all works out for you so that you can get GG in real time. :)

My friend and I taped tonights ep of GG...and my VCR is evil...and we missed like the last 5 mins give or take...and the preivew for next week...can ya help a sister out?

Unfortunately, I don't get GG on TV until next week, since I don't have the WB. And since I got my Tivo, my VCR is no longer hooked up so it can record. Sorry! :( I'd try one of the GG communities.

I'm just commenting on a random entry since I'm guessing your LJ is FO. ;) I remembered you had one, though, from the ficathon. I'm a poster at BWR (Erica Bing, to be exact) and read that you were having your baby, so I just wanted to come by and say congrats and give you some well wishes! The 6th of June was my birthday, it's a good month to be born. ;) Anyway, congrats and I hope all is going well!
