The weary traveller returns! I'm finally back, after a week at the Beach and my weekend at my class. I'm tired, yo. But I'm weeping and bowing in front of my high speed interent. Oh, how I've missed you!
As I posted last week, the vacation did not get off to a great start with hubby forgetting J.'s suitcase. He did redeem himself with the best mother's day surprise ever. He flew my sisters in to spend the week with me! These are my older sisters that still live in Michigan - of all my siblings, I'm closest to them and I only get to see them once a year when we go to Michigan. Jennifer is probably one of my closest friends in the world, and I'm still really close with Wendy. In the 9 years I've lived in Virginia, they've never visited. In spite of numerous attempts, something always comes up and they couldn't come. Anyway, never in a million years did I expect to see them! Apparently they've been planning it since Thanksgiving and everyone in the world knew but me - and no one spilled! Jennifer brought her youngest son Q., my godson, who is 9 mos younger than J. The boys had a blast together and it was so nice to get to spend time with Jennifer and Wendy.
I had all sorts of plans to write fic, beta fic and generally do fannish things. Since my sisters were there, all my plans flew out the window in honor of sisterly bonding and showing them the touristy things. The fact that the dial-up was unbearably slow didn't help matters. I'm so far behind on my flist and e-mail it's not even funny. I've also discovered that Wendy has gotten addicted to Alias, and Rob's best friend Matt loves Lost, Alias, and Grey's Anatomy. I also think I got Wendy hooked on GA. So we had fun watching together. Hubby's family and some other friends came with us as well, and I think everyone had a good time. There was some weirdness with my in-laws, but it's not even worth getting into.
I'm so glad to be home. I missed you all! Now, to wade through and try to catch up...
ETA: I did run while on vacation, but it didn't go terribly well. I think I'm going to repeat the week (and run on a treadmill tomorrow to make myself feel better and a little more positive). For those of you who were interested, the new community for running will be up in a few days.

I'm still planning on it. I know you have company, though, so I don't want to intrude. Just tell me. You won't hurt my feelings!
