If
jujubinha is the best fic reviewer out there (and there is no doubt that she is), I am the worst. I want to leave more than "I loved it!", but am often at a loss for either the words to express what I like or the time in which to express it. While I might not review, I sure as hell can reccomend! I've read a few stories recently that are just dying to be recc'ed.
Surfacing by
carmen_sandiego is a must read in this long wait we have until the next new Alias episode. It deals with the aftermath of "Crossings," but also serves as a great look into Syd's mind since she woke up in Hong Kong. I can't reccomend it strongly enough!
Before or Since by
mojoco is a WIP that also deals with Syd and Vaughn post-Crossings. I don't want to give too much away, but the central plot seems to revolve around a speculation about the nature of Vaughn's marriage that is running rampant in the fandom. I anxiously await her updates (hint, hint)!
More post-Crossings you say? Sure! Menteur by Anonyme was just posted this morning, and is a great look at Vaughn's thoughts during the cell scene in North Korea. The best part is the flashback to the time six-month after Sydney's "death". Oh, how I wish Becky's explanation was what we'll see on the show!
While I Was Waiting by angvau57 is not a new fic, but if you're not reading it, why the hell not? It's AU (Syd and Vaughn aren't in the CIA), but the details don't really matter. It is such a beautifully written tale of two people finding their soulmate and falling in love. It's definitely fluffy, but it steers very clear of purple prose. Why oh why can't I have a Vaughn like this?
I guess I've wasted enough time. Back to the grindstone!
